Gowan Science Academy Admissions

Gowan Science Academy offers a rigorous, fast-paced curriculum for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, with a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Our inquiry-based learning approach challenges students to reach their full potential and prepares them to thrive in an ever-changing global community.

We are part of the Crane School District, operate as an Open Enrollment public school, and welcome applications from all students residing in Yuma County.

2025–2026 School Year Status

  • At full capacity for all grade levels.

  • All grades no longer have active waitlists.

  • The lottery deadline for the 2025–2026 school year has passed, and admissions are finalized.

 

Looking Ahead to 2026–2027

  • Lottery application window: December 1, 2025 – February 15, 2026

  • Lottery deadline: February 15, 2026

  • Applications received after February 15 are placed on a first-come, first-served waitlist.

  • Kindergarten is the main entry point, but applications are accepted for all grades.

  • No entrance exams, interviews, or fees – we are completely tuition-free.

  • We welcome all Yuma County residents and value diversity as an essential part of our school culture.

How Our Lottery Works

  • More students apply than we have space for, so admission is determined by a random lottery.

  • A new lottery is held each year.

  • Students must reapply each year if they remain on the waitlist.

  • Once admitted, students remain enrolled until they are promoted or withdraw – no need to reapply.
